This BUNDLE of units is based on the Scholastic Trickster Tales graphic novel series. Trickster Tales created by Chris Kientz and different lead author for each set, is based on 64 Traditional Stories From First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Peoples of Canada.
These tales are perfect for integrating reading strategies and Indigenous literature with a whole class using one read aloud book or in smaller literacy groups.
These units can be printed out in its entirety as a student response booklet to be used in reading groups, literature centres, or a whole class study.
Or, individual lesson response pages can be printed separately to support a particular reading strategy or tale.
Each unit is suitable for grade 2, 3, 4 and 5 and would take roughly 3 weeks to complete.
Reading strategies used in this unit to explore the tales are: Summary, Connection, Visualization, Compare and Contrast, Problem / Solution, Story Adaptions, Question and Infer.
All units include: a student response booklet, answer key, and assessment rubric.
