This resource was created to help students practice and master the following easily confused homophones: their / there / they’re, its / it’s, your / you’re, to / two / too.
For each set of tricky homophones, I’ve included an interactive notebook foldable for student note-taking and a cut and paste sort. These are easy prep print-and-go activities you can use immediately with your students.
I’ve also included a Tricky Homophones board game that reviews all of the homophone sets mentioned above. The game includes an answer key to allow students to check their partners or group members. Just print, laminate, and cut out the task cards to prepare. This game is great as a literacy center or early finisher activity.
These activities address the following Common Core Standards:
CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.L.2.2: Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English capitalization, punctuation, and spelling when writing.
CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.L.3.2: Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English capitalization, punctuation, and spelling when writing.
CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.L.4.1.G: Correctly use frequently confused words (e.g., to, too, two; there, their).
