In this no prep fun activity, students determine reference angles for positive and negative angles in both degrees and radians, and also use reference angles to find the six trigonometric functions of angles. This can be used in Trigonometry, PreCalculus, Geometry, Algebra 2. Problems are in degrees and radians, include positive and negative angles, quadrantal angles, and all six trigonometric functions. Students should not need a calculator for this activity.
Included are 30 Digital Task Cards:
#1 - 10 have students only find reference angles; and
#11 – 30 students find the reference and use it to evaluate the trig values of angles whose reference angles are 0, 30, 45, 60, and 90 degrees and/or their radian equivalent.
Your students can enter their answers on the digital cards in a space provided and/or on 2 digital answer sheet which they can send to you. I have designed the activity for students to use correct notation for pi, square roots and fractions,
which is so important. There are two digital answer sheets in case you want to divide the set. Printable answer sheets are also included should you want a blended activity.
One of the great features of Google slides
is that the students can add a text box and work right on the slides showing steps or making notes. The slides stay in their Google Drive folder for review later or they can add them to a Digital Interactive Notebook.
You can assign some or all of them to your students as you would traditional cards and your students can work alone or in groups. Use this for in-class, homework, an assessment, or enrichment. Either way, kids love working online and being interactive with math.
Detailed illustrated instructions on accessing and sharing this resource your students is included as well as the link to the product and answer keys.
