### Description

Angle of Elevation and Angle of Rotation
In these two playdough mats, students use playdough to practice their Angle of Rotation and Angle of Elevation skills. Because the use of playdough is “big and bold”, the teacher can easily and formatively assess student understanding.

The Angle of Rotation mat has students start with color coding the initial side and terminal side of an angle. It then moves students through creating both positive and negative angles of rotation, as well as angles above 360 degrees. It then finishes with a mixed review.

The Angle of Elevation mat has students start with color code labels for angle of elevation and depression on a given picture. It then gives them space to create their own problem and picture using the playdough. Then have students trade mats to solve each other’s problems. Both mats have boxes drawn around sets of problems to aid the teacher in pacing and chunking information for the students.

Suggested Materials: 2 colors of playdough for each student, sheet protectors to make the handout into a mat, dry erase marker (angle of elevation only)
