This is an assessment I use in my high school geometry class. I use this right after we finish our unit about trigonometry, including sine, cosine, tangent, law of sines, and law of cosines.
The assessment has a couple scenarios that happen with this theoretical viking ship. The students must perform calculations and use known properties/concepts help solve problems such as finding the ship's location relative to other objects at sea. It's a fun real-world application and could easily be used as just an in-class activity as well.
