Triple Threat is a strategic game that allows students to practice finding three addends that add up to a given sum. Students roll two dice and find the sum. Then they begin to search the game board for three addends that will add up to the sum rolled. Students need to think ahead to be able to block their opponent from winning as the first one to get four in a row - vertically, horizontally, or diagonally - wins the game. This activity meets or exceeds the Common Core Standards of Mathematics and makes for a great standards-based math center or whole class activity.
