This is a graphic organizer with 54 blanks for students to fill in the names of gods and mortals involved in the ten year war. The 'Map' is organized between those supporting the Aegeans (Greeks) and those supporting the Trojans. Mount Olympus (and a different font) separates the immortals from the mortals. Clues and relationship indicators help prompt students to recall the characters. You will be purchasing: the blank map, a blank map with some letter clues for selected names, and the Answer Key form of the map. This will come in pdf and powerpoint. If the map is too crowded etc., you can edit as you like. (It can overwhelm students at first, but have them focus in on sections one at a time and they soon are successful!)
This is an excellent review as is sparks discussion.
This can be used with Homer's the Iliad, or with Chapters 13, 14, (and the beginning of 15) of Edith Hamilton's Mythology.
[Some names extend into other myths and Greek plays, mostly Euripides - any characters not covered by your readings can be filled in together with your class.]
[This map has been revised; the older version. 32 blanks, is still here to download, as well as the newer version.]
Warning to teachers of the the younger grades: The map does acknowledge rape and sexual slavery as practiced in the war -- easy to edit out if this does not fit your audience.
