Troll Hole Long E

Directions

This game is played by shuffling all the cards, and then placing them in a pile upside down in the center of the table.  Remind students that these are ALL long vowel words. Players take turns drawing one card at a time from the top of the pile. They must read and say their word correctly, or the person to their left can say the word and steal it. If a player draws a TROLL HOLE card, they lose their turn and all of their cards and have to place them on the discard pile. They can draw when it’s their next turn. The player with the most cards at the end of the game wins!

This download includes 32 “Long E” words (vowel teams, irregular vowel patterns, as well as Magic/Bossy E words).  

I recommend printing the game on cardstock and laminating before cutting cards apart for durability because the kids, grades 2-6, love this game!
