This movie guide for DreamWorks' Trolls consists of 26 comprehension, analysis, connection, and personal response questions to keep students focused and thinking critically while watching the film. When students have a purpose for viewing a visual text, they are more engaged, and there are fewer classroom management issues (cell phones, talking, bathroom breaks, etcetera).
The Trolls movie guide features questions about happiness, leadership, good vs. evil, and unstated cultural messages. It also contains questions that require students to think about irony, allusions, mood, and pacing. The questions all appear in chronological order, so you can pause the video and discuss the topics with students in a logical way, keeping everyone on the same page and eliminating confusion.
This movie is one of my all-time favorites and is ideal for middle and high school students. Enjoy!
