Questions are written in simple language about cloning, DNA identification, genetic inheritance, etc. and are meant for students that have not studied the topic in detail--i.e. a prequiz. The general concept should be understood afterwards well enough for students to consider aspects of genetic engineering or the value of protecting DNA.
Time: 6+ minutes
(Depends on ensuing discussion, 2 minutes to introduce and complete, then 3-5 minutes on discussion, or more time)
The first slide tells students to number a page from one to nine, and then the slide progresses through 9 true and false questions on DNA. Then, the questions are all grouped together with two additional overview questions for more information about DNA. The time can be more or less, depending on time spent discussing answers.
An answer key is included at the end, although this information should be basic knowledge for science teachers.
In addition to genetic engineering or biology study, this quiz would be useful to tie into a unit on Flowers for Algernon or similar novel.
