True/False Book Project is a collaborative lesson I did with some of my second grade classes. It is based on the books in the series published by Scholastic. Partners work to create a page that will be part of a larger book that is given to the teacher.
There are 10 books in Scholastic's True False science series. You can find them easily online or at your Scholastic book fair. High interest topics include
- Baby Animals
- Butterflies and Caterpillars
- Dangerous Animals
What's included in this packet is the components you need to have ready for your students:
Page 1 – Front side of page
Page 2 – Back side of page (Add top of page 3, then double side photocopy
page 1 & 2)
Page 3 – Cut out the True or False “stacked” title at the top. This is going to
get glued to the top right corner of page 1. Photocopy pages 1 & 2
with this one it. The other titles on the back side and on Page 4 are for you to cut into strips and include in the group packet. They will use it to for their back side so that they can tell if their statement sentence is True or False.
Page 4 – More strips to include for each group (each group only needs one)
Page 5 & Page 6 – Call numbers for our planet books. Feel free to change
them for your specific library.
Page 7 – Cover Page for the class book.
Page 8, 9 and 10 – Lesson plans and tips
Page 10 – Picture of the inside
