Overview: This is lesson three of a unit dealing with three contemporary immigration issues: Haitian Temporary Protective Status, DACA, and Syrian Refugees. Students are asked to analyze U.S.’s policies under Obama and decide if Trump’s changes would be good or bad for the country. Each lesson includes 10 activities (Hook, Word Association, Geography Challenge, Summary Passage, Partner-Share, Guided Viewing, Guided Listening, Exit Ticket, Op-ed Analysis) that are presented to students in one document through Google Classroom. If students do not have a Chromebook or internet access, however, the lessons can be printed from Google Docs. In depth explanation of each activity along with links to all internet resources are provided. Click on the Link found on first page of teacher guide sheet to access the lesson on Google Doc.
