Greetings Fellow Educators,
These fun and versatile activities can be used in a variety of circumstances. We have all gone through the painstaking process of trying to teach students to think like a scientist. Not just the scientific method, but the difference between Fact & Opinion… Observation & Inference! These simple activities teach this differentiation without the use of actual science. There are neither right nor wrong answers, as long as the students’ arguments can be backed-up by FACTS/OBSERVATIONS. These simple puzzles, short stories, and activities have even been used by law enforcement and law schools to teach the essentials of observation and fact finding.
Depending on the age and education level of your students, adapt these activities as needed. Imagine the possibilities that can come out of these activities.
Good Luck and Productive Teaching,
