This is a four-page nonfiction earth science article on the natural disaster, tsunami. Students will learn about the origin of the word, what a tsunami is, how it forms, where in the world it is most likely to occur, and how to stay safe and prevent getting hurt or damage from this disaster. In addition to the reading, there is an additional page of comprehension questions to assess student understanding.
Students will learn:
• where the word tsunami comes from
• what it is
• how one forms
• where they are most likely to occur
• preventive measures

This product includes blackline masters and an answer key or rubric.

This product was designed and used with my grade 7 small group and inclusion science students when learning about natural disasters.
