This WebQuest uses an excellent site about tsunamis. I use it with my 7th grade Earth Science class every year.
- The site can take awhile to load the more people are on it. Once the kids are in, there is no delay getting around the site. It's just that initial load.
- I have my kids skip the intro.
- I play the first part, "Anatomy" of a tsunami, on my projector and do the questions as a group. If you have each kid watch it individually, it will take a long time to load.
- The site rest of the site has sound, but you can do everything after question 6 without sound, no problem.
At the end of the WebQuest, I have the kids do a simple Google search about a tsunami of their choice and the damage it caused.
The majority of my students finish this in 40 minutes. A few take it home as homework to finish.
