Tuck Everlasting is one of my top three favorite stories to read to or with my students. The book is about a family that is everlasting and changeless due to a drinking from a magic spring that leaves them the same forever. This book has a number of twists and turns that are unexpected and the students are typically very engaged with the plot of the story. In addition, this book generates a great conversation in relation to the themes presented throughout its pages.
The guided read aloud presentation provides chapter by chapter vocabulary, comprehension and group discussion questions. In addition, there are some slides and resources at the end regarding the setting, character traits, character changes, plot events and themes that you could utilize at the time you felt it was useful.
My hope is that you're able to use this resource and can use it as a supplement even if you haven't read the book. The questions are separated into pre, during and post chapter questions. Reviewing the during chapter questions before you read each chapter would allow for you to decide when to discuss the questions.
Every time that I read this book I find something new and engaging to present to the students. I hope that you and your students enjoy the book and real along guide!
