This is a Sticky Note Comprehension Booklet for Natalie Babbitt's Tuck Everlasting. I've included questions for all chapters of the book, a book project choice board and pages for students to write new vocabulary they've acquired through reading. Students can record their responses on sticky notes and store them in this booklet, or they can write their answers directly in the booklet. It's amazing how motivated students can be when sticky notes are involved!
Please download the free preview to see the questions for the prologue, chapters 1, 2 and 3.
I use this booklet with my fifth grade students during guided to monitor comprehension. The questions range in complexity from basic comprehension focused on major plot points and characters to higher order thinking questions requiring longer responses. This product can be used for independent reading, read aloud or literature circles. The questions are not specifically aligned to Common Core standards, but many questions as students to cite specific text based evidence and most questions are text dependent. It would be helpful for students to have their own copy of the text in order to answer the questions.
I've included two versions of the same booklet. The first option is for teachers who only want to hand out a few chapters at a time. The second version will allow you to create an organized booklet by copying the pages double sided. I've included printing tips in the introduction if you want to create the collated booklet. This booklet has a full color cover, but the rest of the pages use black font and frames for easy copying.
Please note: This is NOT a novel study. I have not included chapter notes for the teacher or vocabulary ideas. This is a booklet of questions to help your students fully appreciate the novel. I don't want any one to be disappointed with their purchase, so please ask if you have any questions!
