Tuck Everlasting vocabulary study
Vocabulary words are broken into groups by chapters. Students are required to find the word being used in a sentence from the book then guess what they think the word means using context clues, and then they look the word up in the dictionary to find the meaning.
I have also included a guide that the students can fill out for each chapter or group of chapters to help them remember the characters that have been introduced, the setting where that chapter(s) took place, a summary of what happened, and a prediction for what they think will happen. This is very helpful for the students to use when reading a novel, as it helps them keep track of what is going on.
There are also questions for each chapter that you may use as a reader’s response assessment. Writing is a very large part of the language arts curriculum, so you can have the students do one or two questions per chapter or every few chapters. This will allow them to practice their writing skills and learn to find textual evidence to support their answers/claims.
