When you combine graphics and for loops animation is the next logical step. This unit combines draw commands, with repetition to create an animated story. This unit gives you everything: 3 versions of every student handout, PowerPoint lessons and test reviews, answer keys, assessments, a culminating activity and four versions of one test. Everything you need to teach a student how to control output on a computer screen. Unit 4 Variables is the next step in this series.
Turing is a programming language that was written with high schools in mind which makes it ideal as a first language. This unit is the third of twelve. Concepts & skills were broken down into short chunks in the previous units. Students must now put everything together! This unit focuses on the student’s ability to transfer the knowledge they have learned by creating much larger programs. They are also asked to reflect on their learning and provided terminology to begin a programming dictionary. The unit ends with a Culminating Activity followed by a test so students can demonstrate their mastery of the concepts and materials presented in this unit.
