"Turkeys In Disguise, Who Am I?" is a Thanksgiving themed adapted book that focuses on the -Wh Question word, "Who," making inferences, and basic comprehension skills by having students answer the question, "Who?"
In this activity, a teacher or therapist reads the story, as students follow along and answer the riddle on each page, by choosing the correct interactive matching piece.
"Thanksgiving is on the way and all of the town's turkeys have disguised themselves. Use the clues to figure out who each turkey is.
I am the turkey, who's wearing a crown.
My pretty pink dress is the talk of the town!
Who am I?
I am the princess! My blonde wig and purple earrings are sure to trick every hunter."
After the story, you can expand the activity by using the question cards provided. These question cards focus on different types of "Who" questions, and are differentiated for multiple learning levels. Students answer the questions by choosing the correct matching pieces provided.
Students working at an independent level can read and work through the book at a literacy center or independent work station.
