Turkey Claus - A Speech and Language Companion

This book companion is designed to accompany the book Turkey Claus by Wendy Silvano. I am in no way associated with her or her awesome book, I am just a big fan! Book not included.
Included speech and language activities:
•P 4 Listen and Color: Students can listen for key items in the story and color them in as they hear them.
•PP 5-6 Sequencing Pictures and Story Mat: Cut out the pictures. Have students sequence the story and then practice retelling. This may be done as individual work with a story mat and pictures for each student or as group work while the therapist and students complete the story mat together. Alternatively, during a group session, disperse the cards amongst the students and have them place the event on the story mat when they hear that part of the book.
•PP 7-12 Turkey Claus Mini Book: Have the student arrange the cards in the correct order. Then, have the student practice telling the story (provided story optional for use with readers and non-readers)
•PP 13-14 Comprehension Questions: Who, What, and Where questions
•PP 15 Reasoning/Inferencing Questions: How, Why, and Feeling questions
•PP 16-17 Story Grammar Worksheets: Two levels of difficulty to identify story elements.
•PP 18-19 Turkey Traits: Identify the character traits of Turkey. Use the provided chart for help finding appropriate traits.
PP 20-21 Compare and Contrast: Use the venn diagrams to discuss what is the same and different between Turkey Trouble and Turkey Claus or choose your own on the blank diagram.
•PP 22-26 Vocabulary: Includes word wall words, definition cards, and a fill in the blank work sheet.
•PP 27-28 Writing Prompts: Use the prompts to target writing. For non-writers, target expressive language by drawing a picture and discussing it.
•PP 29-31 Following Directions: Includes 1 and 2 step directions
•PP 32-33 Turkey Prepositions: Cut out the cards. Students answer Where is Turkey?
•P 34 I Can Listen for My Speech Sound: Students write words containing their target sound while they listen to the story.
•P 35 Turkey Claus Reinforcer Page: Have students practice a target (e.g. artic, fluency, verb tense, etc.) while they color or paint the picture.
