Here's a fun way to practice writing dialogue! The activity features eight turkeys with speech bubbles for students to write each character's dialogue. You could add various requirements for the dialogue to incorporate other parts of the curriculum as well. Some ideas might be:
1. Use a certain number of spelling or vocabulary words
2. Use a certain number of similes, metaphors, idioms, alliteration, etc.
3. Use examples of comma rules
4. Use all four types of sentences
Students then move to part two which involves writing the dialogue in correct form with correct punctuation as well as using synonyms for said. A "Synonyms for Said" list is included for student reference.
