Students will plan a Turkey Dinner while calculating ratios, proportions, percents, discount, percent of change, sales tax and commission. This can be used as an assessment task at the end of the unit as well. Linked to the Common Core for 7th grade standards, this activity lets students work with multiple steps while allowing the teacher to progress monitor. Length of time is anywhere from 2-3 days. An extension activity is included for advanced math students.
