This activity will be great to use at a literacy or math center during the month of Thanksgiving. Print off the feathers needed for the center and the recording sheet to go with it. Print off the turkey to put on a container and put the feathers into the container. Students take turns and pick a feather. They then color the feather on the sheet the corresponds to the feather they picked. Blank feathers and blank recording sheets are included so you can customize this activity to the skills being worked on in your classroom.
Included: All capital letters on feathers, all lower case letters on feathers, 1-20 on feathers, blank red feather sheet, blank tan feather sheet, upper case letters recording sheet, lower case letters recording sheet, numbers 1 -20 recording sheet, 10’s frame 1 – 10 recording sheet, 3 different types of blank recording sheets
Some sample ways to use this activity include:
ABC recognition – Match letters (ex: A and A) or match capital letters to lowercase letters (or vice versa)
Number recognition – Match numbers (ex: 1 to 1) or match numbers to 10’s frames
Write a word starting with the letter picked. (Ex: if T was picked than student would write turkey)
Math facts – Write a math fact based off the number drawn. (Ex: If 5 was drawn students could write 2+3)
Draw dots to go with the corresponding number that was picked.
