Help! Mr. Gobbles the Turkey is on the run! He is hiding from the farmer somewhere around your school. He leaves a note to your class sending them on a shape hunt. As students hunt for shapes, they gather the feathers he has lost.
Students will solve the shape riddles Mr. Gobbles leaves them. They will then make an Indian headband. They will work hard before their Thanksgiving Break to earn feathers to add to their headband for good behavior.
After receiving another note from Mr. Gobbles, students learn that when Mr. Gobbles is scared not all of his sounds come out when he tries to talk. Students will use the letters on some of his lost feathers to spell short vowel words. Students will work on isolating initial, medial, and final sounds.
