A fun way to practice sight words during Reading Centers.
Cut cards out and place in a bag.
Students pick a word out of the bag. If they can read it they keep it, if not they put it back in the bag and then the next student draws a card. If they pull out a turkey they have to put all their cards back into the bag. You can play where there is no winner, and the game just keeps going until you are ready to be done, or if you want to have a winner you could play where once the turkey has been drawn the game is over. You count your cards and the student with the most cards wins.
My students love this game and it makes them eager to learn their sight words so they can keep their cards!
