Turkey Troubles Mini-Math Project.... PERFECT for 3rd through 5th grade students!
Student Worksheet, Rubric, and Glyph Key included! All are EDITABLE!!!
Printed student worksheet, rubric, and glyph key printed
Paper plates (small or large)
Construction paper (blue, pink, orange, yellow, pink, red, light & dark brown)
Googly eyes (two sizes)
Scissors, tape, glue
If teaching younger students, you may want to pre-cut the paper plates, paper feathers, and turkey body parts. I usually provide an example turkey and then let my 5th and 6th graders cut their own. Bonus: teach students to create identical feet by folding the paper in half, drawing one foot, cutting out the one foot, unfolding to find two feet!
Short on time… have students write the word problem for homework. While students complete the glyph in class, check over their word problems and make corrections. They can write their final draft of the word problem for homework.
The final products make excellent wall décor or addition to a math portfolio.
