Are you students always late turning in their work? Add some competition to the classroom with a Turn It In Contest!
Using the contest is simple:
For each assignment, calculate the percentage of students who turned it in on time. For example, if 15 out of 25 students turned it in on time, they have a 60% Turn In Rate.
You can also do this for individual students. If a student turns in 5 out of 11 assignments, the turn in rate is 45%.
Classes can earn privileges by reaching high percentages. I like to give students a visual to show them their turn in rates, like posting a picture of a thermometer filled to the appropriate percentage.
Show the students the Powerpoint and add slides to show their progress! Remember, this is not about the grade they receive on the assignment, but whether or not it was turned in on time!
