As students turn in work, I ask them to highlight their names based on how well they think they did. I print and laminate these, then post them above the turn in bins. This is a formative assessment for them and makes grading easier on me. If I only have a minute, I can quickly pull all the orange papers for easy 100s. I can conference with students if their grade doesn't match the color they chose.
