Product Description
Turn the Glasses Over {Low So / Sol Practice Pack}

Arr, mateys! This pirate themed sea chanty will liven up your practice time, or else ye walk the plank!

Turn the Glasses Over (I've Been to Haarlem) is a great song to practice low so/sol and students love this circle partner game! Hardest rhythm is takadi (tiriti / tikati). This song can also be paired with the cup game, as seen on Pitch Perfect.

Sing the song; play the game; tap the treasure for the beat; read the rhythms with the lyrics; practice low so (low sol) with rhythmic notation and staff notation.

This resource can be used in any Kodaly or Orff inspired music classroom!

Improvise the lyrics, tap the beat and read the rhythm. Then read the solfege on the staff (with and without solfege labels). Try your hand at the Captain's Challenge (beat v. rhythm) and write the missing solfege in The Case of the Missing Treasure

Bonus! I've included a printable assessment page and exit tickets, plus two different types of game directions (circle dance and cup game).
