Simple graphic organizer to help students identify and describe turning points in American history. I use this for APUSH but it can easily be adapted/edited for any history class. Turning points are an important component to the historical thinking skill of periodization in the APUSH curriculum. I use this in conjunction with strips of paper with terms/events/people from the different historical periods. Students group the terms/events/people into three different time periods (they do not have to be APUSH time periods) and then look for the turning points between the different time periods.
