Description

"Turning Risk into Success''- TRIS- is a series of 12 lessons that teaches teenagers how to start their own business. This course helps teens create a business based on something they are passionate about. The lessons were created by Dr. Curtis L. DeBerg, an award-winning university professor.

Each of the 12 lessons is $5 per student. It is perfect for a Career and Technical Education course. Students completing the course will receive a Certificate of Completion from California State University's Center for Entrepreneurship.

A teacher can also buy the complete kit for $500 per class. The kit includes a teacher's manual and an instructor CD-ROM. This convenient supplement provides a copy of the lessons on a portable CD-ROM. Also on the CD-ROM are PowerPoint lessons for each lesson, Teacher/Trainer Manual (including solutions), sample quizzes for each lesson, and an assessment exam to be administered at the end of the course.

During the TRIS program students will gain knowledge and skills that will help them become a successful entrepreneur, and a more confident person. We integrate computer skills like creating financial spreadsheets, doing research on the internet, and making PowerPoint presentations. TRIS lessons are very hands-on. Lessons are organized into four parts:
• The Big Picture
• Questions and Answers
• Taking Action
• What to Do Before the Next Lesson
