Get some pond life fun and higher level thinking going for your kiddos with this twist on a graphic organizer. This activity goes perfectly with a study of turtles and tortoises. I usually begin our unit by reading The Foolish Tortoise by Richard Buckley (illustrated by Eric Carle) or Yertle the Turtle by Dr. Suess. After a few non fiction fact books about turtles and tortoises, I wrap up our study with this fact sorting activity/craft. Hence...a venn diagram-craft hybrid!
Your students will create a turtle and tortoise side by side. They will then sort and glue facts about turtles and tortoises to the correct portions of their craft. I have included three versions of the shell pattern facts: color pictures, black and white pictures, and no pictures (complete sentences only).
