This lesson is part of a Sequencing (Timeline) Thinking Map. Pg. 2 covers the pre-Tuskegee Airmen events beginning from 1939. The lesson begins with pilots; Eugene Jacques Bullard and Ms. Bessie Coleman; extending researching the "Father of Black Aviation--C. Alfred Anderson, Benjamin Oliver Davis, Sr., Lt. Willa Brown, 12/27/1941, (Pearl Harbor) and the movement of the Tuskegee Airmen from the shores of the United States to Morocco, North Africa.
Students will research the names and events given and add dates, facts and photos as part of their Tuskegee Airmen Art Project. A suggested format is offered for use with "Creating a Holocaust Thinking Map Collage".
