'Twas the Night Before Christmas is THE classic Christmas poem.
First published anonymously in 1823, it was attributed to Clement Clarke Moore, who later acknowledged writing it.
In 1905, 'Twas the Night Before Christmas was adapted into this silent movie. There isn't dialogue, but background music was added. It was produced by Edison Studios...ala Thomas Edison.
At only 8:44 minutes in length, this charming little film also provides a wonderful historical peek into early Edwardian life. It's part of the Prelinger Archives, an absolute treasure trove of historical materials in the public domain.

I hope you enjoy 'Twas the Night Before Christmas as much as I do!
