This is designed to be a summative project after the WWII unit. Students select an identity, tweet at least 8 tweets from themselves and 2 tweets from a contemporary. This reinforces succinct writing, use of modern technology and its vernacular (i.e. #hashtags), while reinforcing point of view writing.
This is based on the 6-8 Common Core standards for history, with 7th grade standards as the meeting grade level, 6th as approaching grade level and 8th as exceeding grade level. Could be adapted slightly for an older audience easily.
If you'd like to give students another option, I also have an Instagram in WWII Project which caters to visual learners while reinforcing point of view writing.
