Shakespeare's comedy Twelfth Night is the perfect alternative to those tragedies that consume our curriculum, and the analysis of the characters is just as powerful. This graphic organizer asks students to research, describe and analyze the characters in the play and provide textual evidence to support their choices.
I use this as formative assessment and springboard for an essay summative assessment.
It is uploaded as a Word document so you may alter or add scaffolding for struggling learners. Feel free to alter to fit your instruction and curriculum.
My classes use Blackboard, so I upload it, and students type their responses allowing the boxes to expand with their text. They then submit electronically and/or print to use during an in-class essay.
