“Amazing, worth waiting. It was simply breathtaking. The eighth wonder of the world!” The Brooklyn Bridge, connecting Brooklyn and New York City, was 14 years in the making! It filled some with wonder and others with distrust. In this doubt a savvy showman saw opportunity!
The following companion includes multiple ELA activities for retelling, comparing, cause and effect, character evaluation, authors purpose/message, a writing prompt, and vocabulary. Additionally, I have included a STEM activity to accompany the story! There are several background and instructional pages as well as posters, a recording page, and a journal to guide students through the engineering process.
Students of all ages will truly enjoy diving into this incredible story as well as engaging in the engineering design process.
