This six part unit plan for Twilight by Stephenie Meyer includes an activity pack; a vocabulary pack; a quiz pack, a journal pack; a grammar and English language conventions pack; and a Twilight movie pack. All packs are composed of handouts that can be copied and passed out to students. These packs contain Twilight lesson plans that are prepared for immediate classroom reproduction and use. This plan of over 100 pages is a great way to help you guide your students through Meyer's novel. The packs are also available for separate purchase. A more in-depth description of each pack can be found below:
TWILIGHT ACTIVITY PACK: The activity pack contains reproducible handouts that will help guide teachers in reviewing literary elements as their students read the novel. The activity pack reviews literary elements such as figurative language (similes, metaphors, and personification), foreshadowing, imagery, and much more. The worksheets all tie into the novel and are ready to copy and distribute to students. These handouts are great to help students discover and review the literary elements hidden within Twilight.
TWILIGHT VOCABULARY PACK: The vocabulary activity pack for Stephenie Meyer's Twilight contains chapter handouts that utilize context clues to help students learn difficult words. There is one reproducible, a handout, for every 2 chapters (the epilogue has its own handout). The worksheets are ready to copy and distribute to students. These context clues handouts are great to help students preview and learn new vocabulary words before they start reading each chapter. This Twilight vocabulary pack includes a total of thirteen double-sided worksheets. It is sure to be useful in any classroom looking at the words of Twilight.
TWILIGHT MULTIPLE CHOICE CHAPTER QUIZZES PACK: This quiz pack for Stephenie Meyer's Twilight contains one quiz for every two chapters (chapters one through twenty-four). Each quiz is composed of seven multiple choice questions. A teacher answer key for each quiz is included at the very end of the packet. The quizzes are ready to print, copy, and distribute to students immediately.
TWILIGHT JOURNAL PACK: This journal pack for Stephenie Meyer's Twilight contains reproducible handouts that will help students connect with the reading as they complete the novel. The journal pack includes one handout for each chapter (25 handouts total, including one for the epilogue); each handout contains two writing prompts that students get to choose from; each writing prompt connects to something from the prompt's given chapter. The worksheets, which are ready to copy and distribute, each give students much writing room on which they can place their response. These handouts are an excellent way to help students better connect to Twilight. They also pave the way for group or classroom discussions. If you prefer to avoid using handouts, the prompts have also been formatted on pages that can be printed on overhead projector transparencies for easy overhead use (these pages can be found at the end of the journal pack).
TWILIGHT GRAMMAR & ENGLISH LANGUAGE CONVENTIONS PACK: This unique pack reviews English language conventions and grammar in Stephenie Meyer's Twilight. It is composed of ready-to- use student handouts and separate teacher answer keys. Each handout is composed of an exercise that covers a certain topic. Topics include parts of speech (subject and predicate, and prepositions), and correct punctuation use (comma usage, and semi-colons/colons). The many exercises in this plan use actual excerpts from the novel. For instance, excerpts in which Meyer uses commas were used to create an exercise that reviews comma usage. By utilizing actual excerpts, this plan helps to make the tedious task of teaching English language conventions more relevant and meaningful to students.
TWILIGHT MOVIE PACK: This pack is designed to go hand-in-hand with the movie version of Stephenie Meyer's Twilight. It is composed of a few reproducibles that are to be used as you watch the movie and/or when the movie has been viewed. The heart of the plan is a set of 25 follow-along-questions that students are to answer as the movie plays. The questions are great to open up class-discussions. Also included is a basic movie/book comparison chart, a movie critique handout, and a symbol chart. All handouts but the movie/book comparison chart can be used if you only watch the movie and do not read the actual book. It's a perfect plan to make a few of your teaching days easier, and it contains great lesson plans to be used with a substitute on a Twilight movie day.
