It's also great for your celebration or anytime during the year when learning about this holiday. Use this sheet as part of your teaching curriculum, a treat for early finishers or just for fun.

Word searches are not only a great way to pass the time, they also make fantastic teaching aids. My puzzles can be used by a variety of people (teachers, managers, religious leaders, professors, and parents just to name a few) to help others instill important facts and lessons.

Not that you really need an excuse to work on a puzzle, but just in case you do, here are a handful of reasons why you should solve word searches:

  • Boosts vocabulary,
  • Improves spelling and logic skills
  • Intellectually engaging
  • Helps you think outside of the box
  • Forces your brain to exercise and workout
  • Assists in problem solving
  • Allows a different form of thinking
  • Easily carried from place to place
  • Develops word recognition
  • Builds stamina
  • Teaches word pattern
  • Rewarding when one is completed
  • And they're TONS OF FUN!!

Need help finding the words. . . .

  1. Ignore the word list and just look for words to "jump out" at you
  2. Look for multiple words at a time instead of just one word
  3. Turn your puzzle upside or sideways
  4. Search sections or chunks at a time versus one letter
  5. Take a short break or look away for a few minutes
