Product Description
TWIST UP your creative writing with this step-by-step writing unit.

This 6-page PDF file contains everything you need for creative writing using the fractured tale of Snow White.

Read the 'original' (my) version of the story of Snow White and discuss it with the children. Talk about Snow White as a character, discuss her personality traits and those of the other characters.

Now ask the children to imagine that the Snow White was not as lovely as we think she is. What if she was just a badly behaved teen? Discuss some behaviour traits of difficult people. Give the children the worksheet where they can read some adjectives describing her and ask them to come up with antonyms. This is the start of their description of the new personality.

The children can then draw out their story line in the story-board section and add as much or as little to describe the pictures. Perfect for different abilities.

They can then use the next worksheet (an interview with Grumpy) to elaborate and build on their notes to describe Snow White in more depth.

Finally they get to be a 'reporter' and spill the beans on Snow White in The Daily Truth newspaper.

There is enough here for up to three or four lessons, depending on what depth you go into the story.

You can build in use of dictionaries and thesaurus to find the antonyms and build on the story board section to what level you wish.

I am using this with children who are struggling to write and they are loving it.
