I’m using it this week to get my Middle School students talking about Hurricane Sandy, but you can take out the Sandy specifics and make it useful for tons of different lessons!
When I do this with my class the first time I will give them the next page as directions, then it gets a bit more memorized so the sheet may not be necessary each time but that will depend on the specific assignment and your class.
The page after that contains templates for you to use for your own tweets and to give to your students. Write in your own fictional twitter handle and then print as many blanks as each of your students will need.
The next two pages have some tweets that I made about Hurricane Sandy for my class to respond to this week and the “header” sheet that I post in the room with some relevant hashtags and @names. I change these each time I change the original tweet.
Again, this is only a template and example, use your imagination with this and keep it up year round, just changing the original tweet!
