Two Bad Ants by Chris Van Allsburg teaches students in a fun, creative way about making choices, their consequences, and gratitude for what really matters. The illustrations in Allsburg's book offer a unique perspective of everyday things.

This sequencing and comprehension packet, designed for K-3rd grade level and home school students, provides students a visual element that is often needed in ESE and ESL classrooms using Boardmaker images, especially useful for visual learners and learners with special needs. The packet includes a sequencing activity with 2 sets of 8 pictures to order, a pre-writing planning page, two writing prompts, four multiple choice comprehension questions with visual prompts, and 1 short answer question. Packet may be used as a group review or individual formative assessment. Because it is for multiple grades, select the questions, writing activities and questions most appropriate for the level of your students. The five comprehension questions can easily be cut apart for learners that need minimal items on a page. The planning page can be used for each writing activity, the short answer question, or to further examine vocabulary from the story. Answer sheet is included for the sequencing activity and comprehension questions. Common Core Standards included for Literature and Writing for Kindergarten-3rd grade. This may not be a complete list of standards addressed. Please supplement additional activities and lessons to further support and assess each of these standards.
