Two Christmas-themed logic puzzles from The Science Vault where students:
1. Determine the number and color of ornaments six students hung on a Christmas tree
2. Determine the color and size (length, width, and height) of gifts for four students
Great as a bellringers to get class going, or as a transition activity, or even as a part of sub plans. My students love these puzzles - they always ask for them when they have finished their work and are waiting to move on to the "next thing."
This puzzle uses greater than and less than, addition and subtraction, and a small amount of multiplication (to determine volume) so they could be accessible (with some support) to 4th graders and still be a fun 15 - 25 minute activity for 8th graders.
Answer keys are provided.
