When preparing for state testing, I always teach my students how to take Two-Column Notes. Two Column Notes are a way to write notes when watching a film or video clip, listening to a speech or lecture, and/or reading a piece of text on a computer screen or in a book where you cannot annotate directly onto the page. This resource will guide your students on how to take Two Column Notes, including a poster with directions and six graphic organizers, showing your students ways to set up their Two Column Notes including Questions/Answers, Cause/Effect, Main Ideas/Details, Summary/Evidence, Vocabulary/Definitions, & Arguments/Evidence. Once your students complete their Two Column Notes, they will have the information that they need to write that essay or answer those multiple choice questions. Show your students how to utilize their Two Column Notes using this resource and get them ready for testing season.
