Product Description

Provide wonderful reading, literature and listening opportunities for your students with this delightful little library of Spring and Easter tales!

As we know, repeated readings enhance fluency, which leads to greater comprehension. This collection of stories will provide endless opportunities for your students to enjoy literature as they improve their skills.

Not only do these story cards provide the important element of choice for children, but the easy accessibility will increase the amount of time reading, vs. choosing. This collection fits perfectly into the “Listen to Reading” section of The Daily Five routine in the classroom.

All of the links in this set have been formatted using Safeshare, which blocks any ads and distracting side content from YouTube. Students will see the stories through the Safeshare filter. Click on the "Puppy Mudge" link (above) to view a story using Safeshare technology.

Included in this set are 8 "clickable" reading menus/QR code sheets that feature delightful 24 Spring and Easter-themed stories. The links and codes will allow students to view and listen to great stories read with a smooth and expressive voice. The text of the books' pages can be viewed on-screen, in most cases.

The QR Code Task Cards are so much fun!

They are designed to be printed and cut into quarters. After laminating, you can punch a hole in the corner and keep them on a ring. You can combine the cards with other sets or be selective about which titles you offer on a given day. To make use of the QR codes, simply download one of the many free QR Code Reader apps that are available online. Then, students can scan the code and enjoy a wonderful story.

The Reading Menus allow you to send the story collections directly to your students' devices, which actually eliminates the need for the QR Codes. Students simply click on the cover, link, or QR code to be swept away to a story read aloud expressively and fluently.

In my first grade classroom, students have Chromebook accounts, which allows me to send the Reading Menus en masse through Google Classroom. As I send additional Reading Menus throughout the school year, the children amass a nice little library of wonderful read-alouds.
