Two common games have transformed into music games and are bundled together for savings. Great for the substitute, laryngitis day, for review, or even indoor recess. These are a lot of fun for the kiddos!
I Declare Music I is a great tool for learning basic note values of whole, half, quarter, eighth, and dotted note values. Played like I Declare War, students need to deal out cards and then figure out how much the notes on the card add up to. Whoever has the highest value, gets all the cards. There are even some MUSIC cards which act as jokers.
Included are direction sheets on full sheets, half sheets, and in thirds so you can easily put each game set into a baggie or envelope that suits you.
Your students will love the challenge!
Old Music Game (matching) is an opportunity for students to practice recognizing common music symbols and the appropriate name. Similar to Old Maid, it takes some luck. Symbols include notes, rests, things you see on a page of music, and basic expressive elements. This is just another way for students to become familiar with music notation in a fun way. Good for 2-5 players with an instruction sheet that is easy to put on an envelope or baggie. The last one with the Music card loses!
If you have students at different levels in the same class, there are harder versions of both games available in my store!
