This is a handout for a two part skill development drawing assignment. The first part includes instructions for making 5 small drawings, each with a different focus and drawing medium. The second part asks students to choose from four themes and to choose a medium from part one to develop their ideas into a completed drawing. The marking scale is included as well. The first part is developing drawing skills through observation, and second part encourages students to be creative with their imagery. For the composition in the second part a set of goals is included and considerations for the student while developing their project.
This would be suitable for any high school art class. It gives teaching opportunities for techniques in pencil, ink, charcoal, and pencil crayon.
