India's rich history goes back to ancient times. My World History and Culture classes take part in an extensive unit on India, covering geography and ancient times through India's independence and beyond.
A unit on India offers opportunity for traditional and alternate activities and assessments. This sometimes includes reading and writing creation myths, learning about yoga and meditation, or even looking at how India is represented in modern films. Nonetheless, students are also given quizzes and tests to assess their knowledge and understanding of major religions, people, and events.
The two quizzes and two tests in this packet are largely based on material from two textbooks -
World History: Perspectives on the Past AND World History: The Human Experience.
I hope these assessments are a helpful resource as you design assessments for your own India unit.
