Two Step Equations – Partner Perfection: These differentiated, self-checking worksheets contain 4 sets of 10 two-step equations for a total of 40 problems! There are two versions of the worksheets – one with columns 1,2 and one with columns A,B.
The 1,2 version is slightly harder with fractions and decimals in several of the problems. This version is good for students who catch on quickly, need to be challenged, or finish early.
The A,B version has no fractions or decimals. This is a good version for struggling students, remediation, or beginning practice.
The nice thing about this activity is that all four columns have the same answer key! That’s right #1 has the same answer in column A,B,1, and 2! That means that you can differentiate among partners without them knowing!
****One of the reasons I love this activity is that by having students be able to check each other(since their answers should match), it frees me up to work with those students who aren’t ready to work on their own yet, were absent, etc. This way I’m not constantly interrupted by “Is this right? Can you check mine?” If their answers match their partners then they know they’re right!
There are two versions included in this product – one set is meant to be cut in half as a partner activity. I’ve also included a single header version if you 1) don’t have time to cut the worksheet in half, 2) want to give it as homework and let the students choose which column to work out for each problem, or 3) would rather have larger sheets instead of smaller ones to keep track of.
